SimpleSpend Privacy Policy

SimpleSpend helps you record and understand your personal finances. This policy explains what information the app handles and the choices you have.

Information you add

SimpleSpend stores the information you choose to enter, such as transactions, amounts, dates, notes, accounts, categories, ledgers, budgets, and app settings.

This information is stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, Apple iCloud stores and syncs it across your devices. SimpleSpend does not require a separate developer account.

Services used by SimpleSpend

SimpleSpend uses a small number of services to provide app features:

• Apple iCloud: syncs your data when you enable iCloud sync.
• Apple App Store: processes payments and manages subscriptions and one-time purchases. The developer does not receive your card details.
• RevenueCat: receives an anonymous app identifier and purchase information needed to record purchases, restore access, and process subscription, refund, or revocation changes. RevenueCat does not receive your SimpleSpend financial records or a name, email address, or Apple ID from the app. StoreKit verification remains the source used by SimpleSpend to unlock paid features.
• Frankfurter: receives currency codes and dates when the app requests exchange rates. It does not receive your amounts, notes, accounts, categories, or ledgers.
• Apple system features: Siri, Shortcuts, Spotlight, and related Apple services are used only when you choose those features.

These providers may process necessary technical information, such as an IP address, under their own privacy policies.

Optional product analytics

If you choose Share Product Analytics, SimpleSpend sends limited, pseudonymous information to TelemetryDeck to understand app usage and reliability. This may include feature interactions, app and device version information, broad performance measurements, diagnostic categories, and a general purchase type.

Analytics does not include your financial amounts, transaction notes, merchant text, custom account, category, or ledger names, Apple ID, email address, or advertising identifier.

You can turn product analytics on or off at any time in Settings. This choice does not affect RevenueCat purchase accounting, which is needed to support purchases and restore access.

How information is used

Information is used only to:

• provide the features you request;
• sync your data when you enable iCloud;
• verify, record, and restore purchases;
• fetch exchange rates; and
• improve app quality when you consent to analytics.

SimpleSpend does not sell or rent your data, does not show third-party advertising, and does not use your data to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

Your choices

You can:

• add, edit, delete, or export your records in the app;
• enable or disable iCloud sync in Settings;
• enable or disable product analytics in Settings;
• manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple; and
• restore purchases from the SimpleSpend paywall.

Deleting the app removes its local data according to iOS behavior. Data already stored in iCloud remains governed by your iCloud settings until you remove it there.

Retention and deletion

Your financial records remain on your device or in your iCloud account until you delete them, remove the app, or manage them through Apple settings.

Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase records as needed to provide purchase history, subscription status, refunds, revocations, and restoration, subject to their policies and legal obligations. TelemetryDeck retains consented analytics according to its service policy.

Children’s privacy

SimpleSpend is not directed to children, and the app does not knowingly request unnecessary personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when SimpleSpend’s data practices change. The effective date above will show the latest revision.
